Local Grammar School Principals
SLN has invited the principals from Burley, Jahn and Agassiz to attend the November meeting to update the membership on the academics and operations of our local schools.
Lincoln Hub (Lincoln/Southport/Wellington) – YES or NO vote
We had a May meeting complaining about the new design. The SLN survey results were revealed and we had a discussion with comments at the October meeting. Now SLN Board just wants to know:
If you had to chose, would you prefer to:
keep the current intersection configuration or
return the intersection to its original design.
This will be a secret ballot vote.
As the by-laws state
Article III-Membership: To vote on any issue, other than a zoning change request, one must be a member for at least 60 days prior to voting.
Voting must be in person.
So, to vote you must be a renewing member with dues paid in full before this meeting or a new member as of the September 8, 2015 meeting.
Results of the vote will be forwarded to the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce and Alderman Waguespack’s office. The result is purely advisory.
Member Socializing – 7:00 to 7:30 in the Athenaeum Lobby.
The Athenaeum opens its bar for members to purchase some beer, wine or pop before the start of the monthly meeting. Come a little earlier to the meeting for some member socializing. Your purchase helps support the operations of The Athenaeum Theatre.
Thank you and see you there.
What happened at the last meeting? What has Joni reviewed this month? How does Bill deal with rats? All of this and MORE can be found in the November newsletter. Read it now!

Eia Radosavljevic says:
FYI, I tried to renew my membership about a month ago, and again today, but I get a warning that the online membership renewal page is NOT SECURE. Firefox would not let me connect to the page at all due to security issues, and Chrome gives this warning:
“Your connection is not private.
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from members.slneighbors.org (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
members.slneighbors.org normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Chrome tried to connect to members.slneighbors.org this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. Either an attacker is trying to pretend to be members.slneighbors.org, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.”
Steven Stern says:
Thanks, Eia. I fixed a misconfiguration. The appropriate security certificates are now used.
