October at SLN

Meeting with Congressman Mike Quigley and State Representative Ann Williams

Tuesday, October 20, 7:00 PM, on the Zoom machine.

Please login a bit early so we can start on-time. The meeting will be recorded and the audio shared on the website afterwards.

For Covid-19 safety measures, the SLN Board has decided to forego in-person monthly membership
meetings at this time.

After the successful September Zoom Meeting with Alderman Waguespack, SLN has lined-up two of our elected officials for the October ZOOM Meeting. A link to the Zoom meeting will be posted and emailed the day prior to the meeting.

At the September 20 meeting

You’ll find full details of the Alderman’s talk and Q&A in the October Newsletter. Listen to the audio of the entire meeting.

History was made on Tuesday, September 22 as SLN held its first official monthly membership meeting on Zoom. Topics included COVID, the city’s economy and budget, what “defunding” the police means, local development activity, rent and mortgage payments, and designation of Lincoln as a “pedestrian street” for zoning purposes. In addition, there were questions about CPS and policing.

Zoning affairs:

3113 N. Lincoln has received a Transit Oriented District qualification. Read what this means in the October Newsletter.

New Website Features

We’ve added a “My SLN” feature to the website. At this time, it allows you to view and update your contact information and view your membership history.

To set yourself up to use it,

  1. Go to https://slneighbors.org/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
  2. Enter your email address: Use the address at which you receive the newsletter.
  3. Click “Get New Password”
  4. Follow the links to set a new password.

Now that you have a password, please proceed to login. In the future, you can just click on the “My SLN” link on the menu to access your SLN info. Once we’d proved this out, we’ll have the ability to add “member only” content to the website and provide better members services.
