Zoning Change – 1317 W. Wolfram

The owners of this residential house zoned RS-3 and built about 10 years ago are requesting an upzoning to RS4 for the purpose of enlarging their house to accommodate their expanding family. This will be a voting issue.

Mayoral Candidate Bob Fioretti

Opportunity knocks and SLN opened the door. Officially Declared Mayoral Candidate’s people let SLN know the candidate was available to attend the October meeting. Get a preview of what expects to be an interesting February 2015 Mayoral election.

November Election Candidate Forum

SLN has invited all party candidates for US Congress, State Senator, State Representative and County Commissioner. At press time, final arrangements were still being made.

Bike Lakeview

From our friends at Lakeview Citizens’ Council

blvJoin the Lake View Citizens Council (LVCC) for a leisurely Sunday morning bike ride around Lake View. Get to know your neighbors while exploring our bicycle-friendly neighborhood. Stick around after this month’s ride for Sunday Play Spot, a pop-up plaza on Lincoln Avenue with free games and activities for all ages (http://www.sundayplayspot.com/).

Bike Lake View is a free hour-long neighborhood social ride geared toward all of our neighbors — bring your kids and your grandparents! For more information, contact Lee Crandell at crandell@gmail.com. Visit the LVCC website to get involved in your neighborhood.

What: Bike Lake View neighborhood bike ride
When: 10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 14 (Second Sunday every month)
Where: Meet at Seminary & Waveland (Northwest corner of Wrigley Field)
Post-ride: Ending around 11:00 a.m. for social time at Dinkel’s Bakery (3329 N Lincoln), with Sunday Play Spot kicking off outside Dinkel’s at noon
Helmets are required and be sure to bring a lock so you can stick around after riding.

Alderman Scott Waguespack – The State of the Ward

A member of the Progressive Caucus, set being a thorn in the side of Mayor Emmanuel’s lay down and vote City Council. The Alderman will give his annual report on the status of the Ward and the City.
