Special Meeting Notice

Alderman Waguespack has requested a meeting regarding the 1325-41 W. Belmont Medical Center. The Developer has revised their plans. The PROJECT is now a 3 story, 45 ft tall building. Under this proposal, the Developer does not need a zoning change. However, the Developer is requesting a variance (decrease) in the number of parking spots required under the current zoning.

South Lakeview Neighbors will flyer the immediate area.

The meeting is being conducted by Alderman Waguespack.

Doors open at 7PM – Meeting starts promptly at 7:30PM.

December 2010 Newsletter

The December 2010 newsletter is now available. Members should have received a copy via postal mail.  Click here to download a copy.

Some highlights:

  • The December meeting will be our annual holiday party at Will’s Northwoods Inn, starting at 6:30 PM on the 14th.  See the meeting preview for more information.
  • At the November meeting, a revised plan was presented for the proposed medical building on Belmont.  Neighbors and members voted ‘no’ on the proposal in a 2 to 1 ratio.
  • Sgt Jason Clark talked about crime and crime prevention.  The handouts from his talk are here.

Annual Holiday Party – December 14

Our next meeting is Tuesday, December 14.
Location: Will’s Northwoods Inn
3030 N. Racine Ave.

Agenda: Annual Holiday Party @ 6:30PM

FREE food, appetizers and desserts (donated by area restaurants).

FREE pop, Draft Miller Lite and Leinenkugels and house wine (donated by Will’s Northwoods, thank you). If you want a mixed drink or other brand it will be a cash bar.

RAFFLES – World Famous Liquor Raffle, gift certificates and restaurant. POPULAR 50/50 split the pot cash raffle. Winner must be present.
TABLES and seating – expanded seating. Come and be comfortable.
MEMBERS, family and friends are welcome.

FOOD DONATION – attendees are asked to participate in the Lakeview Pantry Food Drive. Food pantries have seen a 15% increase in clients due to the down economy and increased unemployment. SLN has arranged for all donations to go directly to the Pantry located at 1414 W, Oakdale in the lower level of St. Alphonsus for people in our neighborhood. Please bring one or more cans of nonperishable food to the Holiday Party to help those out who might be struggling during the Holiday Season.
